Evidence-based CBT Hypnotherapy and HypnoBirthing® support for meaningful, lasting change—helping you reshape habits and approach life and birth with clarity and confidence.

  • CBT Hypnotherapy

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)-informed hypnotherapy for anxiety, behavioural patterns, and meaningful change.

This approach integrates established cognitive behavioural principles with therapeutic hypnosis to support practical, sustainable progress. My work draws on CBT frameworks, alongside acceptance-based approaches and elements of Internal Family Systems (parts work) where appropriate.

The central focus is building psychological flexibility — strengthening your capacity to respond differently to difficult thoughts and emotions, reduce avoidance patterns, and take meaningful action aligned with your values.

Sessions are structured and collaborative. Together, we identify patterns that may be maintaining anxiety or reinforcing unhelpful habits, and develop strategies that support long-term change.

    Habit Change & Smoking Cessation

Many habits — including smoking — function as automatic strategies for managing stress or discomfort. While they may offer short-term relief, they often reinforce longer-term anxiety patterns.

Our work focuses on understanding the triggers and internal dynamics that maintain the habit, and supporting you in developing the identity and behaviours of a non-smoker.

Through CBT-informed hypnotherapy, we strengthen motivation, interrupt automatic routines, and build alternative responses that align with your long-term wellbeing.

The goal is not simply to stop a behaviour, but to establish a stable shift in self-concept and daily patterns.

  • “I was anxious about singing in front of an audience for the first time. Marjorie helped me visualize the performance, from walking onstage to singing the first song. She guided me calmly and asked what I was seeing and feeling; she suggested deep breathing, affirmations and other aids. The walk-through triggered a deeper block, and we worked through my fear of audience judgement. Afterwards, in the days leading up to the concert, I felt calmer and more in control. I slept better too. It was a relief to be able to put parameters around my fears, the better to enjoy my singing debut!”

  • “I was really nervous about going for my driver’s test again at 70, but Marjorie helped me turn that around. The hypnosis sessions taught me how to relax and focus, and by the time the test came, I actually felt confident. I passed, and I’m driving again! I’m very grateful for the support.”

  • “Working with Marjorie helped me understand my thoughts and patterns in a completely new way. The cognitive behavioral strategies she taught me were practical and easy to use, and I started noticing real changes quickly. They’ve helped me navigate travel anxiety and other situations that used to feel overwhelming. I feel more grounded, capable and less held back by the beliefs that once limited me.”

  • “We were so grateful for the opportunity to work with Marjorie for our Hypnobirthing education! She did an excellent job of weaving together theoretical material with practical exercises, discussions and her own wisdom. Her calm, welcoming, and grounded demeanor made each session truly relaxing and comfortable. Not to mention she has a seriously calming voice which was perfect while practicing each breathing and visualization technique!

We've come away from these sessions feeling SO much more prepared for our birth experience. The Hypnobirthing techniques have helped us to feel empowered in the birthing process. We know more about what to expect, how a birth partner can actively participate, and how we may have a calmer, more positive birth experience.

We feel so fortunate for not only getting to experience the Hypnobirthing world, but to have done it with someone as skilled, knowledgeable, and wonderful as Marjorie! We highly recommend her for anyone's hypnobirthing journey!”

  • "As I was having problems mentally preparing for my 3rd attempt to pass my driver’s license practical component, I reached out to Marjorie for help. We discussed in detail what my issues were with this test and my past experiences in test taking. By talking through all of this, I was able to put it into perspective and rethink how I was approaching the test. I am happy to report that I did pass the test in no small part to Marjorie’s thoughtful and timely assistance.”
